Hey everyone, I have been using my new Mimo Monitor for a few days now and I just thought I would share my first impressions on it with everyone.
First, I’m very pleased with the screen resolution, contrast ratio, and overall picture quality. Everything on this monitor looks like it should. The colors are good, and the contrast ratio is exceptional for a monitor of this size.
This monitor meant to be used for side applications that you wouldn’t want wasting space on your main displays. I’ve been using this monitor for applications such as iTunes, Twitter, Instant Messaging, as well as some other side bar applications such as those computer monitoring apps that monitor CPU usage, the percentage of RAM currently being used, and Internet status.
Lastly, this monitor come in very handy during large workloads where you have many windows open. In my case, when I’m making a video I usually have the raw .mov files on my TV screen, and on my laptop screen, I usually have the my photo editor and Windows Movie Maker running. It used to be annoying to have side applications taking up space on either one of my displays, because it would essentially take away the space I needed to do my work. But the Mimo monitor allows me to do all of my main tasks on my main displays, while allowing me to run all of my side applications on a screen that doesn’t take up much space on my desk.
Overall, my first impressions on this device have been very good. It’s convenient, low profile, and offers a good screen resolution and contrast ratio for a device of this size. I also like the fact that the display is powered by a single USB 2.0 connection and that there is virtually no lag while using this monitor at all. The only thing that I noticed so far is that the mouse curser does not move as fluidly as it would on a standard display. However, this isn’t a big issue to me, and probably wouldn’t be an issue to you either if you were to buy one of these displays.
